It wouldn't be a visit to Don Juanz without a yayo, el dorado (mahi-mahi) fish tacos and that pure shrimp quesadilla with wild caught shrimp. All of their seafood is from the ocean and not a farm. Tacos are excellent, but the yayo is the star of the show. This is my #1 stop in Shreveport.
The Chicken Chipotle tacos moved me enough to photograph and review them. It's hard to beat a freshly made tortilla to begin with, but add grilled chicken, roasted corn and this chipotle aioli and these tacos scream perfection!
Visited over the holidays and as always delicious, well cooked, presented food. Service was awesome. Will definitely try to come back every time we come to Shreveport. Kids loved it.
I popped in late but the staff was so accommodating. Had the mi casa slim margarita which is all natural and no sugar added. Freshly squeezed lime juice is a premium around here and happy to have it. I ordered my shrimp tacos with fire roasted corn and they were out of the world good. The bartender even made a DDD (designated driver drink) which was a topo chico with lime and prickly pear puree added. So thoughtful and the best margarita I've had even in Texas.
A great restaurant for a variety of delicious tacos, burritos, & quesadillas. We stopped by about 7pm & immediately noticed the police presence in the parking lot. The host to taking the orders was friendly & informative. Walked us through the menu & pointed out the most popular items to try. Being able to mix taco selections is the path we chose. The Mexi-cheese steak tacos were probably my favorite but the Baja Carnitas slow cooked pork with pineapples was delicious! Service was excellent as they would check on us several times to make sure we didn't need anything. A great place for a date night or just solo or with the family.
Who would think a taco place serves the best quesadillas? Don Juanz knocks it out of the park with crispy grilled steak, chicken or shrimp quesadillas and are as tasty as they are beautiful.
Our first time and it was amazing! Very attentive service and delicious food, fresh. We ordered the ceviche, the el jefe steak and chicken fajitas and absolutely loved our meal. Will definitely be coming back 10/10
What a beautifully created interior space. We arrived early on a Sunday before they opened, and they let us in. We were the only ones there until they opened. I can't say enough about the service, the spotless dining room and the blood orange inspired Smoke and Blood mezcal cocktail. The fish tacos and burritos are what foodie dreams are made of.
